Custom Steel Railing for Youngberg Hill Winery
The Willamette Valley is the heart of Oregon Wine Country. Sitting on a hill outside of McMinnville, Oregon, lies Youngberg Hill, a beautiful vineyard and inn. The current owners, Wayne and Nicolette Bailey, have been sprucing up the property since they bought it in 2003.
Some of these renovations have been in and around the inn. Their contractor, Ryan Mehlhoff, has been working with the Bailey family for years and when they have custom metal fabrication jobs they come to us at Solid Form.
We recently finished our fourth installation with the Youngberg Hill team – this time installing steel railing for a new event center they’re building. We also fabricated and installed the railing for the deck around the inn a couple years ago. All of these railings were powder coated steel. When the family decided to remodel the kitchen, we fabricated a stainless steel countertop as well.
The most recent custom steel railing job took about a month from measuring to installation. We were installing the railing onto concrete steps. The level steps helped make the process go smoothly. We didn’t have to account for small differences on each section of steps so we were able to fabricate all of the railings to the same measurements. To install these railings, we drilled holes into the concrete steps and bolted the legs of the railing down. We had a beautiful day for installation and were able to enjoy the view of the vineyard and Willamette Valley as we worked. We were even visited by the Bailey family dogs!
We love when past clients return to us for another project. Building a working relationship with a contractor or business owner allows us to familiarize ourselves even better with the needs of each client. Over the years, our partnership with Ryan and the Bailey family has allowed us to work efficiently and produce the final product that they’re looking for with little complication.
