Stainless Steel Fabrication at Inlet Point
In 2008, the Solid Form Fabrication team was approached by a family friend to do some custom steel fabrication projects for his vacation rental on Inlet Point in Lincoln City, Oregon. Over the years, the homeowner continued to return to us for more projects and updates on his rental. Some of these projects included a stainless steel awning, door, sconce lights, an interior railing, deck and a miniature lighthouse. A partnership was quickly formed, as the Solid Form team continued to produce exceptional work in a timely manner.
With each of these projects, the homeowner conveyed a general idea of what he wanted. Then it was up to us to turn his concept into solid form. Keath, co-owner of Solid Form, produced most of the designs for these custom projects. He used only marine grade stainless steel in order to ensure no rusting would occur when exposed to the ocean air over time. This awning (below) won the 2010 Outstanding Remodeling Achievement Award in the Residential Exterior Specialty category for the Oregon Remodelers Association 2010 Awards.
Even though some of these fabrication projects were months or years apart, the designs of each of the projects are cohesive, creating an inviting theme for the waterfront vacation rental.
Many of the projects have the sun rays design as seen on the door and interior railing (below).
Keath designed and fabricated the interior railing with a seaside theme to fit the feel of the house. He added different finishes and textures to the designs as well.
The gate shown above also matches the style of the door, railing and deck with the sun ray design. Our fabricators have an acute attention to detail and often think to incorporate little finishing touches like this in order to create a cohesive design throughout multiple projects. The design of the lighthouse on this fence was based on the Cape Meares lighthouse on the Oregon coast.
Solid Form also designed and built the deck for the home. After fabricating the beams for the deck in the shop, they brought them out to the site and performed on-site welding to install it.
The finished product turned out quite well!
